GapAid

GapAid is a newly formed charity addressing some of the issues related to the fast-growing gap year experience that is becoming a rite of passage for so many young people.

Our aim is to ensure the safety of gappers and empower them to be good citizens, aware of sensitive issues such as religious intolerance, poverty environmental issues and promote respect for host cultures.

We will aim to educate travellers about host countries and cultures and  try to assist young travellers who experience problems by utilising available technologies and connecting relevant agencies and organisations.

We are now embarking on substantial fundraising with the immediate objectives of:

• Building the technical and administration infrastructure

• Hire researchers to create the knowledge base

• Hire staff to manage the Charity

• Set up Helplines and technical capabilities to operate

• Build partnerships and influence with Government and appropriate stakeholders in the gap travel industry.

We will only be successful if we attract the funding to achieve our objectives and welcome any donations large and small.

We also wish to work with other interested charities and agencies who share our goals.
